Pancakes for Parkinson'sThe MissionTeam Fox has launched a national expansion campaign to help teams on campuses and in communities all across the country start pancakes fundraisers of their own. The idea is simple. Imagine a sunny Saturday morning at your school or in your community filled with pancake-hungry community members. All morning long, neighbors, friends, families and students enjoy a good breakfast, and more importantly, a sense of community around an important cause. In the course of a few hours and bowls of batter, you can raise funds to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease. Bring Pancakes for Parkinson's to your college, high school or community by joining Team Fox today and checking out our Pancakes for Parkinson's how-to guide in the Students Give Back Resources center. HistoryPancakes for Parkinson's was founded in 2004 at the University of Virginia. Founder Mary McNaught, now a Team Fox mentor, got it started as a UVA freshman with the idea that the community could come together and in one morning make an indelible - and delicious - mark on the fight to cure Parkinson's disease. Every fall, students take one day to decorate UVA's historic Lawn, serve free pancakes, educate people about Parkinson's disease and collect donations to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. In five years, the event has raised over $125,000. Learn more at: uva.pancakesforparkinsons.org. ![]()
