Pancakes for Parkinson's

History

Pancakes for Parkinson's was founded in 2004 at the University of Virginia.  Founder Mary McNaught, a UVA freshman at the time, got it started with the idea that the community could come together and in one morning make an indelible - and delicious - mark on the fight to cure Parkinson's disease.

Every fall semester, students take one day to decorate UVA's historic Lawn, serve free pancakes, educate people about Parkinson's disease and collect donations to benefit The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

In four years, the event has raised close to $100,000.

The Mission

Team Fox has launched a national expansion campaign to help teams on campuses and in communities all across the country start pancakes fundraisers of their own.  If that sounds like something you could do, we offer the following informative guides in addition to the guidance of the team at UVA:
